  • Confirm the exact-address water and sewer provider, then schedule service for the possession date.
  • Schedule Valley Electric Association electric service for the possession date.
  • Contact C&S Waste Solutions / Pahrump Valley Disposal and confirm the current provider, collection day, container, and account instructions for the exact address.
  • Set up internet, television, security, and other communication services.
  • Confirm homeowners insurance is effective when required by the transaction.
  • Contact the association or manager for access, payment, and owner information.

03Address & accounts

  • Submit mail forwarding and update your mailing address with the U.S. Postal Service.
  • Update identification, vehicle, banking, employer, insurance, and tax records.
  • Update medical providers, schools, subscriptions, deliveries, and memberships.
  • Notify family, trusted contacts, and businesses that regularly mail important items.
  • Review automatic payments tied to the prior home or address.
  • Securely dispose of labels and documents containing personal information.

04One week before

  • Reconfirm closing, possession, movers, access, payment method, and arrival time.
  • Pack a first-night box with documents, chargers, toiletries, clothing, and bedding.
  • Keep medications, valuables, keys, closing papers, and identification with you.
  • Label boxes by destination room and mark fragile or immediate-use items clearly.
  • Arrange cleaning and confirm refrigerator, freezer, plants, and hazardous materials.
  • Charge phones, prepare water and snacks, and check the weather and driving route.

05Moving day

  • Complete the final walkthrough and promptly report unresolved concerns.
  • Photograph meter readings and the condition of both homes as appropriate.
